Summary

A curated Film Festival celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act. Fundraiser for Friends of the Verde River, Prescott Creeks and Citizens Water Advocacy Group. Each venue will offer two different screenings, 3:30pm and 6:30pm. Each screening will present approximately 75 minutes of films focusing on water, rivers, wildlife, and wilderness. The film series is sponsored by The Nature Conservancy, Walton Family Foundation, and Arizona Public Service. Sections of the Verde River and Fossil Creek are the only two Wild & Scenic designations in Arizona.

Description

Friends of the Verde River, along with Prescott Creeks and Citizens Water Advocacy Group brings you the Wild and Scenic River Film Festival. This curated Film Festival celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act. The Festival will be held on October 25, 2018 at the Elks Theatre in Prescott, AZ and on October 27, 2018 at Cliff Castle Casino Hotel in Camp Verde, AZ. 

 

Each venue will offer the same fiilm schedule. There will be two screenings of different films at 3:30pm and 6:30pm. Each screening will present approximately 75 minutes of films focusing on water, rivers, wildlife, and wilderness. Whether depicting the struggle for environmental justice or an educational tale about an endangered species, the films expose people to forward-thinking ideas and global awareness. The film series is sponsored by The Nature Conservancy, Walton Family Foundation, and Arizona Public Service. Sections of the Verde River and Fossil Creek are the only two Wild & Scenic designations in Arizona.
